The one day virtual retreat was organised by Katharine Mackenzie Paterson, facialist and founder of KMP skin. It was a wonderful concept for anyone who was in need of a little self care while staying at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual event consisted of a range of activities to help promote health and wellbeing lead by experts of those specific area's.
I was delighted to join makeup artist Amy Wright in a makeup demo for the One day virtual retreat. I have assisted Amy over the years and learnt a lot from her as a makeup artist, so it was lovely to collaborate and be able to be part of this experience.
Together we shared our tips on how we create a 'glowy' natural look on ourselves, using just a couple of products from our personal makeup kits. This look is also a go-to look for me on race day so I was able to share some long-wear, sweat-proof tips. See product list below.
Amy and I discuss the power of makeup and the art of subtly. We both agreed that we love to wear makeup whilst staying active. I personally feel that there is something really ritualistic about the process of getting made up, that gives me an added confidence to feel ready to perform on race day.
I felt so relaxed after the day's activities and was left with an overall sense of content. This was such a wonderful example of how creatives can come together and create something really special for amazing causes. It was amazing to see the day raised £2000 for refuge Charity and The Beauty Banks.
